We have outlined some of the best cycle routes in Kessingland and the surrounding areas. Whether you an avid rider or looking for routes that are for the whole family, we have complied some great routes.

Each of these routes are varied in distance and terrains.

Kessingland to Lowestoft Loop.

This is a lovely route which takes in the beauty of what the Suffolk coast has to offer. Heading off from Kessingland, you will head straight into Pakefield and then onto Lowestoft seafront. Why not stop along the way for a cup of tea, ice cream or even some tasty fish and chips.

You can even travel up through Lowestoft to Ness point, which is the most easterly part of England. Well worth the extra distance and a great photo opportunity!

Once you’ve taken in all the sites, head back along the colourful beach hut lined seafront back towards Kessingland. Why not stop for a cheeky drink at the Jolly Sailor pub, located on top of Pakefield cliffs, before heading back to Kessingland.

14-mile route with level grounds.

Gisleham and Mutford

A lovely cycle route through the historical towns of Gisleham and Mutford. Heading out of The Hollies, you want to turn right and head along the A12 (There is a cycle path along) towards the roundabout next to Morrisons. You want to take the first exit on the roundabout and head towards Gisleham. You will find yourself heading through some beautiful countryside along the way.

Along from Gisleham you will then cycle through to Mutford. You will pass past Cherry Lane Garden centre which has a lovely café. Once in Mutford there are a range of fantastic pubs to enjoy before you enjoy a gentle cycle back to Kessingland.  A great family friendly option.
